After a cool and foggy summer (part of the reason why we have yet to harvest any fruit), the sun was out last weekend for the annual Winesong tasting event on the Mendocino Coast. We had a packed schedule, pouring at The Pinot Noir Celebration on Friday, Winesong on Saturday, and at our own Open House last Sunday.

It was fun to see friends and colleagues and gratifying to also introduce our wines to folks who are new to Waits-Mast. One of our favorite quotes of the weekend was when a taster said, “You don’t even have to drink this wine, you just have to smell it.” Another said that our wine “just explodes out of the glass.”

We never tire of the beauty of the Mendocino Coast and had a magical evening spying a sunset of epic proportions. While out to eat at twilight, we were among the majority of diners who drifted outside to attempt to capture the blazing orange-pink sky.
