Deer Meadows Vineyard, Anderson Valley

deer-meadows-vineyard.jpg

Situated at 1600 feet elevation, with a commanding south-east facing view of Anderson Valley, Rich Savoy’s vineyard is located off of Deer Meadows Road above Boonville. Deer Meadows is farmed organically and planted in a northwest orientation (approximately 22 or 23 degrees off north) in 12 blocks that make up about 9.3 acres total. We first worked with this vineyard in 2009 to make an incredibly complex and layered Pinot Noir using 115 and Wadenswil clones. Our 2009 Deer Meadows Pinot Noir was included in Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wines of 2012. We return to Deer Meadows in 2012 with an acre of Pinot Noir that includes 115, 777 and Calera clones.
