The Waits-Mast Pinot Noir, Mendocino County is a select blend of different barrels from our vineyard designates wines. This wine is blend of Pinot Noir from two different vineyards – Mariah Vineyard in Mendocino Ridge and Oppenlander Vineyard in Comptche (Mendocino County). The Mendocino Ridge site sees more sun because it is above the fog line and the Comptche site ripens later since it is more within the fog belt, about 8 miles from the coast.

The 2014 blend brings together the characteristics of each of these sites, with a mix dark fruit and earth tones from Mariah Vineyard and bright red cherry hightones from Oppenlander Vineyard. The two flavor profiles come together in a taught package with mineral and cranberry notes that finish smooth on the palate.
